GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR CLAY
Aside from knowing what each color means, its properties, and which one is best suited for your skin type, there are some considerations to have with clay.
How to Handle Clay
How to use clay
Follow these simple rules and tips to keep your clay clean, effective, and active:
- Always use clean utensils when removing the clay from the container.
- Clay can stain fabrics, handle with care and protect your clothes or fabrics.
- Store the clay away from extreme heat and direct sunlight.
- Keep out of the proximity of chemicals and strong odors.
- Clay will increase oxygenation and blood circulation to the skin*. (*Sometimes clay can create redness and an itchy sensation, which is normal and not harmful).
- If you are experiencing an active flare-up of rosacea, increased sensitivity, or burning, wait until the area has calmed down before treating it with clay.
- The clay should be kept dry.
- Never accept natural clay packaged in aluminum/metal bags.
- Clay should never be handled with metal spoons or stored in metal containers.
- The materials used to prepare the clay should be plastic-silicone, but preferably wooden, glass, ceramic spoons, bowls, etc.
- For storage, you can use plastic, but paper, ceramic, or glass containers are recommended.
Enjoy :)
